PREPARATION OF PYRIDINIUM SALTS OF 2-FURANE DERIVATIVES

Pyridinium salts have been prepared by nucleophilic substitution reaction of 5-halogeno-2-furane derivatives with pyridine and its 3- and 4-substituted derivatives, where R = 3-methyl, 3-ethyl, 3-amino, 3-methoxycarbonyl, 3-ethoxycarbonyl, 3-aminocarbonyl, 4-amino, 4-aminocarbonyl, 4-phenoxy, and 3,4-dimethyl, and structure of the derivatives prepared has been confirmed by their 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectra.
