Description
(25β)-16,28-Seco-5α-solanid-22(28)-en-3β-ol is a steroidal alkaloid found in Solanum congestiflorum Dun. DC. (25β)-16,28-Seco-5α-solanid-22(28)-en-3β-ol can be further modified through treatment with AcOH in HCl to form the O-acetate as colorless needles from Me2CO, with a melting point of 185-195°C. Oxidation with MnO2 results in the formation of 23-oxosolacongestidine.
