Production of metal-free, alkoxide-pure alkaline earth alkoxides of formula (I) involves alcoholysis of a solution of an optionally mixed alkoxide of formula (II) with an excess of an alcohol of formula (III), compound (II) being at least proportionately dissolved during the reaction.
