1,3-Dihydroxymethyl-4,5-dihydroxyimidazol-2-one Uses

 Dimethyloldihydroxyethyleneurea (CAS NO.1854-26-8) is used as shaping durable fabric finishing agent, having good storage stability, fine properties of washing and hydrolysis. And it is suitable for fabric finishing colors. It is mainly used for polyester / cotton blended fabric finishing and has good keeping of its elasticity.

1,3-Dihydroxymethyl-4,5-dihydroxyimidazol-2-one Production

First, take 490 kg of Glyoxal (100% total) into the reactor,keep stirring and adding 20% to 25% Na2CO3 aqueous solution. Adjust pH value to 5 ~ 5.5. Adding Urea , and stirring for being dissolved, and then gradually warming to about 35 °C, then let automatic temperature to 45 °C for the reaction 1 h, then keeping it at 50 °C for 3 h, at last cooling it to 40 °C for backup. Scecond, adding 37% of the 1 350 kg of Formaldehyde in aqueous solution into the above-mentioned compounds, and using 20% Na2CO3 to adjust the pH value to 8 ~ 8.5. At 50 °C having insulation 3 h, and then being cooled to room temperature. Using acid for adjusting to 6 to 6.5. Now, you will get the product: Dimethyloldihydroxyethyleneurea (CAS NO.1854-26-8).
