Efavirenz Uses
Efavirenz (CAS NO.154598-52-4) is used to treat HIV infection. It is never used alone and is always given in combination with other drugs. It is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor of HIV-1 (human immunodeficiency virus-1). Reverse transcriptase is an enzyme that can transcribe RNA into DNA to copy genetic information from RNA to DNA, therefore also called RNA-directed DNA polymerase.
