Medical application

Percutaneous intra - tumor injection is an important means to treat liver cancer. Acetic acid is an effective intra - tumor injection therapy. However, percutaneous acetic acid injection in the treatment of liver cancer is still limited in the penetration of tumor, difficult to make sustained release preparations, and causes pain in patients during injection. In order to overcome this shortcoming, glycolic acid was introduced into the treatment of liver cancer by intraperitoneal injection as a highly effective chemical inactivator. Through the study on the treatment of tumor cells in vitro, liver necrosis in rats and transplanted liver cancer in nude mice, glycolic acid proved to have a strong antitumor effect. At the same time, glycolic acid was prepared into liposomes and chitosan modified liposomes were prepared. The encapsulation rate and release in vitro were investigated, and the therapeutic effect of glycolic acid liposomes on transplanted tumors in nude mice was studied. [8]

In the pharmacodynamic investigation of glycolic acid solution, different concentrations of glycolic acid solution were prepared, and the cell, rat and nude rat experiments were carried out, and the pharmacodynamic of glycolic acid solution with the same concentration was compared. Through cell experiment, it was found that glycolic acid had strong inhibitory effect on liver tumor cells. Compared with acetic acid at the same concentration, the mean diameter of the maximum cross section of liver necrosis caused by glycolic acid was larger (P 0.05). In the experimental treatment of transplanted tumor in nude mice, the mean diameter of nude mice after transdermal injection of acetic acid was smaller than that of acetic acid with the same concentration (P 0.05), and the stronger inhibitory effect of acetic acid was further confirmed by light microscopy and electron microscopy.
