A fluorescence probe compound, its preparation method and use are provided. The said compound is represented by the general formula I, wherein, each of R1, R2, R3 and R4 is individually selected from the group consisting of H, C1-18 alkyl, phenyl substituted by C1-18 alkyl, naphthyl substituted by C1-18 alkyl, halogen, OR9, N(R9)2, cyano group, (CH2CH2O)nH, (CH2)mCOOH and (CH2)mSO3M; each of R5, R6, R7 and R8 is individually selected from the group consisting of H, C1-18 alkyl, phenyl substituted by C1-18 alkyl, naphthyl substituted by C1-18 alkyl, halogen, hydroxyl, mercapto group, cyano group, nitro group, heterocyclic group, halogenated alkyl, alkyl amino group, acylamino group, OR9, N(R9)2, (CH2CH2O)nH, (CH2)mCOOH and (CH2)mSO3M; R9 represents H, C1-18 alkyl, phenyl substituted by C1-18 alkyl, naphthyl substituted by C1-18 alkyl, halogen, cyano group, (CH2CH2O)nH, (CH2)mCOOH or (CH2)mSO3M; n and m each individually represent integer of 0 to 8; M represents H, K, Na, Li, NH4, NH3R10, NH2(R10)2, NH(R10)3 or N(R10)4; and R10 represents H, C1-6 alkyl or CH2CH2OH. The compound is useful for detecting mercury ion.
