Usage

Description

Elocalcitol, also known as BXL-628, is an analog of vitamin D3 with a wide range of biological activities. It is known for its ability to induce apoptosis in androgen-stimulated human benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) cells in a dose-dependent manner. Elocalcitol has also demonstrated effectiveness in reducing the expression of various proteins and decreasing edema and leukocyte infiltration in different medical conditions.

Uses

Used in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) Treatment:
Elocalcitol is used as a therapeutic agent for the treatment of BPH, as it effectively induces apoptosis in androgen-stimulated BPH cells and inhibits prostate overgrowth in rat models.
Used in Allergen-Induced Interstitial Cystitis Treatment:
Elocalcitol is used as an anti-inflammatory agent in the treatment of allergen-induced interstitial cystitis. It helps reduce the expression of IL-13 and IgE/mast cell-derived protease 1 (MMCP1), as well as decrease edema and leukocyte infiltration in the bladder wall in mouse models.
Used in Endometriosis Treatment:
Elocalcitol is used as a therapeutic agent for endometriosis, as it reduces the number of adherent endometrial stromal cells and decreases the total weight of endometrial lesions in mouse models.
Clinical Investigation:
Formulations containing Elocalcitol are currently under clinical investigation for the treatment of BPH, further exploring its potential applications and effectiveness in medical treatments.
