ISOMERIC HYDROPEROXYEUDESMANOLIDES FROM ARTEMISIA UMBELLIFORMIS
Appendino, Giovanni,Gariboldi, Pierluigi,Nano, Gian Mario
, p. 2767 - 2772 (1983)
Investigation of the aerial parts of Artemisia umbelliformis afforded the new eudesmanolides 5-desoxy-5-hydroperoxytelekin and 5-desoxy-5-hydroperoxy-5-epitelekin.A conformational study of the latter and some transformation products showed that these cis-decalin-type eudesmanolides exist in solution at room temperature as single preferred rotamers whose conformation depends on the substituent at C-5. - Key Word Index: Artemisia umbelliformis; Compositae, sesquiterpene lactones; hydroperoxides; cis-decalin derivatives; 5-desoxy-5-hydroperoxytelekin; 5-desoxy-5-hydroperoxy-5-epitelekin.

Germacranolides and Eudesmanolides from Calea szyszylowiczii
Bohlmann, Ferdinand,Zdero, Christa,King, Robert M.,Robinson, Harold
, p. 2227 - 2246 (2007/10/02)
The aerial parts of Calea szyszylowiczii Hieron. afforded in addition to some constituents also present in other Calea species a complex mixture of sesquiterpene lactones which in part only could be separated after reaction with acetic anhydride or after reduction of hydroperoxides. Finally 28 lactones, in part as derivatives, were isolated, only one of them, telekin, was reported previously.Furthermore a new benzofuran derivative and a bisabolenetetrol were isolated. The structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods and some chemical transformations. The biogenetic relationships are discussed briefly.
