Vancouver Biotech LTD (VBL) has been and will always be dedicated to the development of innovative products in immunodiagnostics of human and animal health care markets. Since 1981, Andrology Laboratory, a research and clinical facility, at UBC Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia, has been committed to research and development of a specific area of biotechnology -- hybridoma technology. Antibodies produced by hybridoma technology are constant in characteristics and mono-specific (called monoclonal antibodies). The advantages of monoclonal antibodies are numerous. The most important features are: permanent sources in forms of established cell lines; high specificity; superior quality and mass production. These unique advantages of monoclonal antibodies are extremely important for successful development of products for immunodetections of human health conditions.
