Keep from freezing.

SECTION 8
EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION

ENGINEERING CONTROLS:

Good general ventilation should be sufficient to control airborne dust, mist and vapor levels.
If user operations generate airborne dust, mist or vapors, use ventilation to keep dust or mist concentrations below
permissible exposure limits (See Section 2).
Where general ventilation is inadequate, use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls
to control dust, mist or vapor levels below permissible exposure limits (see Section 2).
When spraying or applying in confined area use engineering controls. Use local exhaust if possible. If local exhaust is
not possible, wear a properly fitted NIOSH/MSHA-approved vapor/particulate respirator.

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION:

Not typically necessary under normal conditions of use. Avoid inhalation of dust, mist and vapors. Wear a
NIOSH/MSHA-approved respirator equipped with particulate cartridges when dusty or misty in poorly ventilated areas,
and if TLV is exceeded. A respiratory program that meets OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.134 and ANSI Z88.2 requirements
must be followed whenever workplace conditions warrant a respirator's use.

CHRONIC EFFECTS / CARCINOGENICITY:

Crystalline silica: Chronic overexposure to airborne free respirable crystalline silica can result in lung disease (i.e.,
silicosis) and/or lung cancer. The development of silicosis may increase the risks of additional health effects. The risk of
developing silicosis is dependent upon the exposure intensity and duration.
Exposure to respirable crystalline silica is not expected during the normal use of this product; however, actual levels
must be determined by workplace hygiene testing.
In June, 1997, IARC classified crystalline silica (quartz and cristobalite) as a human carcinogen. In making the overall
evaluation, the IARC Working Group noted that carcinogenicity in humans was not detected in all industrial
circumstances studied. Carcinogenicity may be dependent on inherent characteristics of the crystalline silica or on
external factors affecting its biological activity or distribution of its polymorphs.
IARC states that crystalline silica inhaled in the form of quartz or cristobalite from occupational sources is carcinogenic
to humans (Group 1).
Talc: Prolonged and repeated breathing of respirable talc dust may cause lung disease (pneumoconiosis). The extent
and severity of lung injury correlates with the length of exposure and dust concentration. Chronic talc inhalation may
increase the risk of bronchogenic cancer.
Formaldehyde: Formaldehyde may be present in very trace amounts in minor components of this product.
Formaldehyde gas has been related to the development of nasal tumors in some experimental animals. Evidence for
this development in humans has never been found. Formaldehyde is classified as a probable human carcinogen (Group
2A) by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). Long time exposure to formaldehyde can cause skin
or respiratory sensitization. Chronic overexposure to formaldehyde is not expected to occur during normal handling and
use of this product.
Industrial hygiene atmospheric formaldehyde testing during the use and application of similar USG (United States
Gypsum Company) products did not detect any concentration of formaldehyde exposure.
Vinyl acetate monomer: Vinyl acetate monomer may be present in very trace amounts in minor components of this
product. Vinyl acetate monomer vapors have been shown to cause tumors in the respiratory tract of laboratory animals.
Chronic overexposure to vinyl acetate monomer is not expected to occur during normal handling and use of this product.
Acetaldehyde: Acetaldehyde may be present in very trace amounts in minor components of this product. Acetaldehyde
increased the incidence of carcinomas in the nasal mucosa of rats and laryngeal carcinoma in hampsters. In another
inhalation study using lower exposure level and in an intratracheal instillation study, no increased incidence of tumors in
hampsters was observed. Chronic overexposure to acetaldehyde is not expected to occur during normal handling and
use of this product.
