Glycolic acid is widely used in cosmetics. Because of its small molecular weight and size, it has a better capability to penetrate skin. Glycolic acid can diminish the skin and make skin look younger by acting as a humectants to absorb moisture in air by exfoliating action to break the bonds between dead skin cells.

Applications: 99% glycolic acid 

Glycolic acid crystal can be used in fine pharmaceutical synthesis, cosmetics, adhesive, solder, raw material for coating. 

As well as an agent for nickel plate. They are also used in emulsion polymers, solvents and ink and paint additive to 

improve flow properties and impart gloss.

Solubility of Glycolic Acid: 

Freely soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, acetone, acetic acid and ethyl acetate; slightly soluble in 

ethyl ether, but hardly soluble in hydrocarbon solvents.
