Menotrophins (Human Menopausal gonadotrophin, HMG) This product is extracted from the urine of menopausal women. Characteristics soluble in water. Action and use Menotrophins is the mixture of follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone (LH). It can stimulate the growth and maturation of the ovaryand the spermary, and the producing and releasing of follicle or sperm as well. Luteinizing hormone (LH) acts on the immature sexual glands and stimulates the testis to secrete androgens. So LH can strengthen the function of the follicle stimulating hormone. In clinical practice, it is mainly used together with chorionic gonadotrophin in the treatment of anovulatory sterility, secondary amenorrhea, spermacrasia, ovarian function test, etc. No antibody develops even when the patient uses this product for long periods.
