Kiwi-EX™ is Botaniex’s propriety branded extract of fuzzy kiwi fruit. Kiwi has been used in China as traditional medicine for many centuries before its global proliferation, since then there has been significant research conducted regarding kiwi fruit’s health benefits which include but are not limited to antioxidant properties, gastrointestinal health, cardiovascular health, dermatological applications, and even anti-cancer potential. Botaniex provides kiwi extracts in the following forms and specifications.
Kiwi fruit is native to China, its cultivation then spread to New Zealand and subsequently many other areas of the world. There are three main varieties of the Kiwi fruit, the most common being the fuzzy kiwi. Kiwi berries and golden kiwis are less common. Although kiwi fruit is available in multiple varieties, Botaniex’s extracts are obtained from the most well known subspecies of fuzzy kiwi. Kiwi’s contain large quantities of many nutrients including Vitamin C and dietary fibre, making it a health addition to most diets even without its demonstrated health benefits.

Much of Kiwi fruit’s health benefits are the direct result of its high nutrient content and antioxidant properties. Digestive benefits are the result of a protease known as actinidin that helps with protein digestion, the dietary fibre helps in bulking up and softening stools for easier passage. Studies have also identified that kiwi fruit is better able to transport a variety of antioxidants to target tissues, showing a significant increase in their bioavailability in comparison to having the compounds administered simply through water. The antioxidants contribute directly to the anti-mutagenic properties of kiwi.
Kiwi extract is safe as an additive and supplement to the same extent that the fruit is. However, like the fruit, there are allergens that individuals must be aware of before the use and consumption of any kiwi extract containing supplements.
Up to 5.5grams per day may be used. Dosage requirements are based on specific use cases.
