(1). Irritant. For being irritating to eyes and respiratory system, Menadione may cause inflammation to the skin or other mucous membranes.
(2). Harmful. This chemical may cause damage to health.
Therefore, you should take the following measure to prevent from danger.
(1). In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
(2). Wear suitable protective clothing.
(3). Wear suitable gloves and eye/face protection.
(4). Avoid contact with skin.
Below are some specific cases and your first-aid measures:
If inhalation, you should move person into fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Consult a physician.
If contact by skin, you should wash off with soap and plenty of water. Consult a physician.

Menadione (CAS NO.58-27-5) is used as a source of vitamin K in the treatment of hypoprothrombinemia against vitamin K deficiency.
6. Use of Menadione
Menadione could react with formaldehyde to produce 2-chloromethyl-3-methyl-[1,4]naphthoquinone, and this reaction could happen in the following conditon: reagent of acetic acid HCl.

2-Methyl-[1]naphthol could react to produce Menadione, and this reaction could happen in the following conditon: reagent of NO(SO3K)2.
