FR005 is a halogen free flame retardant based on inorganic hypspophosphite. It is used as the base flame retardant for TPU, PU, TPE, PBT and GF-PBT. It is always used with synergistic flame retardant component, such as MCA, APP, MPP, MC and other nitrogen series flame retardants. FR005 with the synergism achieve the flame retardant effect through intumescences. The thermoplastic material foams and cross links on exposure to flame and forms a stable char at the surface acting as a barrier. The protective layer provides a heat-insulation effect, reduces oxygen access and prevents dripping of molten polymer.
