Usage And Synthesis

General Description

Colorless liquid with a weak odor .

Usage

This product is used as the coupling agent (often mix) of dilute aqueous coating; the active solvent of water-based paint; household and industrial cleaning agent, in addition to the solvent of fat liquor and paint remover, metal cleaning, solvent of solvent screen printing ink , coupling agent, coupling agent of VAT dye fabric, coupling agent of cosmetics formula and skin care agent; stabilizer of agricultural pesticide; fixative of essence; coagulating agent of bright floor, and component of brake oil.

Air & Water Reactions

Oxidizes readily in air to form unstable peroxides that may explode spontaneously. Miscible with water.

Reactivity Profile

Dipropylene glycol monomethyl ether may react violently with strong oxidizing agents. May generate flammable and/or toxic gases with alkali metals, nitrides, and other strong reducing agents. May initiate the polymerization of isocyanates and epoxides.
