NVP N-VINYLBUTYROLACTAM 1-ethenyl-2-pyrrolidinon
N-Vinylpyrrolidone ("NVP") is an organic compound consisting of a 5-membered lactam linked to a vinyl group. It is a colorless liquid although commercial samples can appear yellowish.
It is produced industrially by reacting 2-pyrrolidone with acetylene. It is the precursor to polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), an important synthetic material. The NVP monomer is commonly used as a reactive diluent in ultraviolet and electron-beam curablepolymers applied as inks, coatings or adhesives.

Usage:
Plastic Industry: The monomer is added to the formulation of UV-curable coatings, which will form flexible and rigid plastic film. Adding NVP in radiation medicine can improve elongation and viscosityof coatings (high light and low light).
Electronics industry: electronic equipment manufacturers rely on UV paint fast processing and low-temperature process to protect cables ,electrical components and printed circuit boards.
Metal industry: metallic paint is generally used with UV cationic vinyl ether / epoxy chemistry or heterocyclic ring system consisting of formula, the function of NVP is to cross-link with vinyl ethers or acrylic-functional groups, which will form an excellent reactive diluent in these systems.
Other industrial uses: Wide applications in the industrial field of wood, paper, inks, adhesives.
