Part1. Quality and use

PPC or PC is the abbreviation of  Propylene Carbonate  and its molecular formula is C4H6O3, molecular weight is 102.09, relative density is 1.2069, refractive index is 1.4189, melting point is -48.8℃，boiling point is 242℃, flash point is 99℃. It is colorless and odorless or  faint yellow  transparent liquid. It can be dissolved in water and carbon tetrachloride. It has the miscibility with diethyl ether, acetone, benzene and so on. It is an excellent solvent polarity.

Propylene Carbonate (PC)is mainly used for polymer, gas separation process and electrochemical activity.It is especially used for absorbing gas and carbon dioxide which is come from the synthesis raw material of ammonia in petroleum chemical plant.It also can be used as plasticizer, spinning solvent, olefins and aromatics extraction agent. In chemical industry, it is the major raw material forsynthesizing DMC and also can be used for removing natural gas, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide in the gas of oil cracking .In the electronic industry, it can be used as good medium of high-energy batteries and capacitors. In the polymer industry, it can be used as the solvent for the polymer and plasticizer.
