Fumaric acid CAS 110-17-8 is white odorless granules or crystalline powder. Slightly soluble in water, ethyl ether, and acetic acid, soluble in ethanol, almost insoluble in chloroform. Fumaric acid is used in food as acidity regulator, in the manufacture of polyester resins, polyhydric alcohols and as a mordant for dyes etc.

Applications

1) Fumaric acid is used in the production of unsaturated polyester resin.

2) Fumaric acid is used for the production of antidotes DMSA in the pharmaceutical industry

3) Fumaric acid is used as synthetic resin and mordant intermediate.

4) Fumaric acid as a food additive - sour agent, used to cool and refreshing beverage, fruit, jelly, ice cream, etc., and mostly with citric acid use, fumaric acid and and sodium hydroxide reaction made of a single sodium salt, also used as a sour condiment

Storage
