General Description Colorless watery liquid with a pleasant odor. Floats on water.
Air & Water Reactions Insoluble in water.
Reactivity Profile 1-Decene may react vigorously with strong oxidizing agents. May react exothermically with reducing agents to release hydrogen gas. In the presence of various catalysts (such as acids) or initiators, may undergo exothermic addition polymerization reactions. Will attack some forms of plastics [USCG, 1999].
Health Hazard Vapors may produce slight irritation of eyes and respiratory tract if present in high concentration. May also act as a slight anesthetic at high concentration.
