General Description

 

SandGel B, a selectively mined, water-washed, ultrafine crushed and surface modified product, has a high swelling capacity in water and shows a marked thixotropic thickening effect.

Incorporation

 

SandGel B is hydrophilic and easily wetted by water. However, the use of warm water facilitates and accelerates the delamination of dispersion. The recommended employment of greater mechanical energy from shear and by longer mixing times ensures complete dispersion or delamination. SandGel B should be introduced into the water at the initial dispersion phase prior to adding other ingredients. Optimal effectiveness depends on complete hydration. Therefore, stirring under high shearing forces for 10-15 minutes is recommended.

 

Recommended Levels

 

Typical addition levels are between 0.5% and 4.0 %. Specific adding quantity of SandGel B depending upon the degree of suspension, the rheological properties or viscosity required.

 

Storage and Transportation

 

Store in a dry place. SandGel B will absorb moisture in high humidity conditions.
