Magnesium aluminum silicate Cosmetic Grade CAS No.71205-22-6
Excellent emulsion and suspension stabilization at low use levels.NuGum HV conforms to the EP monograph for Aluminium Magnesium Silicate. The specifications and performance of NuGum HV are equivalent to those of Veegum HV.
Introduction
NuGum HV is a selectively mined, specially processed and water-washed smectite product, with optimal purity, heavy metals and performance. It is indicated where high viscosity at low solids is desired. Excellent emulsion and suspension stabilization at low use levels.
NuGum HV conforms to the EP monograph for Aluminium Magnesium Silicate. The specifications and performance of NuGum HV are equivalent to those of Veegum HV.

Functional Use
A suspending agent, viscosifier, binder and emulsion stabilizer. The primary benefit of NuGum HV is the ability to stabilize a dispersion of almost anything dispersed in water lipids in emulsions, solids in suspensions, gases in foams. It’s also rheology modifiers and "feel" improvers, overcoming the tacky, slimy or gummy nature of organic thickeners and other formula ingredients. Additionally, It’s resistant to degradation by bacteria, heat, UV and shear. NuGum HV is used primarily in cosmetics N (e.g., pigment suspension in mascaras and eyeshadow creams) and pharmaceuticals.
Usage
NuGum HV must be properly dispersed in water to achieve the best performance. No other materials should be present in the water because they can interfere with proper hydration and the formation of the colloidal structure. The degree of hydration is directly proportional to the amount of energy used to disperse the product, increasing with the mixing time, mixing intensity or water temperature. After sufficient hydration time, add remaining ingredients. Then the dilution process is complete. Typical addition levels are between 0.5% and 3% of the total
formulation by weight.
