PIPERAZINE CITRATE; treat animal ascaridosis

PIPERAZINE CITRATE is a reliable and efficacious preparation for the therapy and control of ascaridosis in all animal species. It is effective against all development stages of ascarides in the intestines of animals. It is also active against oxyurids, some strongyli, Oesophagostomum spp. and Capillaria spp. Piperazine paralyses the parasites, which are then by peristaltic movements expelled from the intestines.

As piperazine is non-toxic, the treatment may be repeated without any risk.

For the treatment of ascaridosis in all animal species, oxyuriasis and strongyliasis in horses, oesophagostomiasis in pigs, calves and sheep.

Dosage
• Horses 20 - 30 g/100 kg bw. (up to 80 g max.).
• Foals, calves 2 - 3 g/10 kg bw.
• Pigs 3 g /0 kg bw.
• Sheep 2.5 - 3.75 g/10 kg bw.
• Dogs, cats 0.1 - 0.15 g/kg bw.
• Poultry 0.25 - 0.5 g/kg bw.

For a mass treatment of pigs and poultry the drug should be added to a daily water or feed ration in the quantity of 10 g to 3 l of water, 1 kg of feed, respectively. In general, a single dose is sufficient for the removal of all susceptible intestinal parasites.
In case of severe parasite infestation, it is advisable to repeat the treatment after 8 - 14 days.
