Thermochromic pigment are microcapsules with a special thermochromic dye that change color reversibly with temperature.

Principle of color change

When heat is applied to thermochromic microcapsule, the substance structure inside the microcapsule changes and consequently it’s color disappears. When cooling down, the internal substance structure of the microcapsule returns to its original structure and color.
