Plant sources: Sinomenine (Sinomenine) from ivy leaves. (SinomeniumAcutumRehderettWilson) dry root extract. Ivy leaves in addition to contain different sinomenine (Igoginomenine), China sinomenine (SinoAcutine) short alkali (Acutumidine), green times pointed sinomenine (Sinaetine), and double sinomenine (Diginomenine). Main ingredients are alkaloids, soluble in ethanol, acetone, chloroform and dilute alkali, slightly soluble in water, ethanol and benzene (needle crystal)

Property: acicular crystallization (crystallization of benzene). Melting point 161 ℃, melting point and up to 182 ℃ after melting. The rotation luminosity minus 71 (c = 2.1, ethanol). Soluble in ethanol, acetone, chloroform and dilute alkali, soluble in water, ether and benzene. Its hydrochloride, crystallization (water or ethanol), decomposition of 278 ℃. Its hydroiodic acid salt, needle crystal (crystallization) from water, decomposition of 272 ℃. The picrate, yellow needle crystal, decomposition of 176 ℃.
