Properties and uses

Colorless transparent liquid at room temperature, molecular weight, 90.08, melting point at 4℃, boiling point of 90.3, and refractive index (nd20)1.3697viscosity 0.664mpa.s, latent heat of vaporization 8382KJ/kmol. In any proportion with alcohols, ketones, esters and almost all organic solvents, slightly soluble in water.

Dimethyl carbonate is a good methylating agents, carbonylation, hydroxymethylation agents and methoxy agent, has a very active chemical properties. As an intermediate in organic synthesis, it is widely used in paints, coatings and adhesives industry solvent. Alternatives to ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, toluene, and xylene and other traditional solvents. Packaging and storage
