Introduction

Emetine hydrochloride has direct killing effect on Entamoeba histolytica trophozoites, can be used for the treatment of acute amebiasis. Also used to treat lung fluke disease. But highly toxic, can cause poisoning. Except from ipecac, also by acetone dicarboxylic acid ethyl ester two synthesis. Dehydroemetine has strong killing Entamoeba histolytica trophozoites role, and toxicity reaction is light, has for clinical use.
