Tryptomycin A3 is an anti-swelling antibacterial substance produced by Streptomyces grisei (actinomycetes).

The mechanism of action is inhibition of RNA polymerase, which is the same as actinomycin in the binding of antibacterial substance to guanosine group of template DNA. Chromomycin A3 is a member of the goldenic acid family, which originates from Streptomyces aburaviensis, also known as Agboola B.
