Botanical Name: Pogostemon patchouli is the botanical name given to the plant/tree from where the Patchouli oil is obtained.

 

Origin: The land of East Indies – Indonesia is said to be the place of origin of the Patchouli essential oil.

 

Form: Patchouli oil is thick viscosity essential oil.

 

Scent: The Patchouli oil whiffs a pleasant aroma which is smoky, spicy, earthy and musky to smell at.

 

Shade and Appearance: The Patchouli oil exhibits the beautiful mixed shades of Golden Orange to dark Brown with Red hues.

 

Chemical constituents: β-Patchoulene, α-Guaiene, Caryophyllene, α -Patchoulene, Seychellene, α -Bulnesene, Norpatchoulenol, Patchouli alcohol and Pogostol form the major composition of the Patchouli oil.

 

Extraction method: The fresh, young and dried Patchouli herbs are steam-distilled to extract Patchouli essential oil for us.

 

Blends well with: The Patchouli oil makes a great blend with Bergamot, Black Pepper, Clary Sage, Frankincense, Geranium, Lavender and Myrrh essential oils.
