Introduction:

Sulfa drugs are broad-spectrum inhibitory agents that are structurally similar to PABA and can compete with PABA to act on difolic acid synthetases in bacteria, thus preventing PABA from synthesizing the process of folic acid needed by bacteria as a raw material. The amount of metabolically active tetrahydrofolic acid is reduced, and the latter is an essential substance for bacterial synthesis of allopurinol, thymidine nucleosides, and deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA), thus inhibiting the growth and reproduction of bacteria. It is mainly used for acute and chronic urinary tract infections caused by sensitive bacteria.
