OPDA is an aromatic amine, and its molecular formula is C6H4(NH2)2.It is one of the isomers of diphenylamine, two amino groups in the ortho position of the benzene ring (1,2-), the other two isomers are m-phenylenediamine and p-phenylenediamine.O-phenylenediamine is obtained by reduction of sodium sulfide or catalytic hydrogenation of o-nitroaniline.It forms water-soluble salts with many inorganic acids.O-phenylenediamine can be condensed with ketone and aldehyde to form schiff base, and substituted benzimidazole can be synthesized.
