Meloxicam Description

Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and fever reducer effects. It is a derivative of oxicam, closely related to piroxicam, and falls in the enolic acid group of NSAIDs. It was developed by Boehringer-Ingelheim. Meloxicam starts to relieve pain about 30–60 minutes after administration.

Usage 1 Preferential cyclooxygenase (COX-2) inhibitor. Sudoxicam and Meloxicam are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) from the enol-carboxamide class.
Usage 2 angiotensin 2 receptor antagonist
Usage 3 For symptomatic treatment of arthritis and osteoarthritis.
Usage 4 Preferential cyclooxygenase (COX-2) inhibitor. Used as an anti-inflammatory.

Meloxicam Application

Application 1 Meloxicam is commonly used to treat pain or inflammation caused by rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis in adults.
Application 2 It is also used to treat juvenile rheumatoid arthritis in children who are at least 2 years old.
