API Spironolactone /antisterone/aldactone

1. Spironolactone is a steroid and is a potent endogenous salt corticosteroid aldosterone.

Spironolactone has a similar chemical structure to aldosterone, and competes with aldosterone for binding to aldosterone receptors in the epithelial cells of the cortical segments of the distal convoluted tubules and collecting ducts, thereby inhibiting the effect of aldosterone on K-Na exchange.
