<p> Flocculants are chemicals that promote flocculation by causing colloids other suspended particles in liquids to aggregate, forming a floc.The water separated out at the demulsification stage at the oilfield processing facilities contains residual oil finely dispersed solids. Flocculants work in conjunction with gravity settling equipment,hydro cyclones, centrifuges, flotation devices, filtration equipment, the like by creating a “floc” onto which oil droplets particles are absorbed.
