Application field

Often used in heavy flower fragrance, especially in yilan type, other such as carnation, tuberose fragrance. It can also be used in the preparation of freshly cut grass, vanilla and other non-flower fragrances. It can be used together with rock rose products for leather flavor. It is also used as flavoring, suitable for fresh fruit, berry and nut flavoring, such as banana, cherry, plum, grape flavoring and flavoring for tobacco and wine. Used as solvent for cellulose ester, cellulose ether, resin, etc.

The preparation methods

Add 24.4g(0.2mo1) benzoic acid, 50mL benzene, 18.4g(0.4mol) ethanol and 0.8g sulfuric acid into a three-bottle of 250mL water separator, and slowly heat and reflux until no water comes out of the separator. The reactants were first distilled under atmospheric pressure to recover benzoic acid and the remaining ethanol, and then distilled under vacuum. The fractions were collected at 101~103℃(2.66kPa) to obtain about 28g of the product.
