The application of cinnamaldehyde in medicine
1. Sterilization, disinfection and antisepsis, especially for fungi have significant curative effect. It has inhibitory effect on Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus albicans, Shigella dysentery, Typhoid and Paratyphoid Mycobacterium, pneumococcus, aerobacter, Proteus, Bacillus anthracis, Salmonella enteritis, vibrio cholerae and so on. It has remarkable bactericidal effect on gram-positive bacteria and can be used to treat a variety of diseases caused by bacterial infection. Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was 0.02-0.07ul/ mL, and 0.1-0.3ul/ml for deep pathogenic fungi. Japanese medical experts have found that cinnamaldehyde has significant curative effect on fungi. Studies on the antifungal effects of cinnamaldehyde on 22 kinds of pathogenic fungi showed that cinnamaldehyde is the active substance of antifungal, and it plays a bactericidal effect mainly by destroying the cell wall of fungi, making drugs penetrate into the cells of fungi, and destroying the organelles.

2. Anti-ulcer, strengthen stomach and intestinal movement. The mechanism of action is due to the inhibition of ulcer active factors (gastric juice and pepsin) and the enhancement of defense factors (gastric mucosal blood flow rate), as well as the inhibition of gastric mucosal potential reduction and mucosal protection. In addition, cinnamaldehyde can reduce trypsin activity. Cinnamaldehyde is an aromatic wind-dispelling agent, which can stimulate the stomach and intestines, promote the secretion of saliva and gastric fluid, enhance digestive function, relieve gastrointestinal smooth muscle spasm, and relieve intestinal spastic pain. It is used to treat stomachache and flatulence and colic, and has remarkable effect of strengthening stomach and driving wind.

3. The decomposition of fat. Cinnamaldehyde can inhibit the free fatty acid of adrenalin and ACTH, and promote the fat synthesis of glucose. Cinnamic acid also has this kind of effect, but cinnamic acid is much more effective than cinnamic acid. Therefore, it can be used in blood glucose control drugs to strengthen the performance of insulin to replace glucose and prevent and treat diabetes.

4. Antiviral effect. The tumor inhibition effect caused by INFLUENZA virus and SV10 virus is strong.

5. Anti-cancer effects. It can inhibit the occurrence of tumors, and has anti-mutagenesis and anti-radiation effects.

6. Dilate blood vessels and reduce blood pressure. It has antihypertensive effect on adrenocortical hypertension.

7. Aphrodisiac. A study by the Chicago Treatment Research Center in the United States showed that cinnamaldehyde has some effect on male aphrodisiacs.

8. It is often used in external medicine and synthetic medicine. It can be used in massage fluid and beauty products to dissipate congestion, promote blood circulation, warm the skin, tighten the skin tissue, and massage the limbs and body freely to improve water retention. It is effective in softening and removing skin scar and fibroma. It is also used in safflower oil, cooling oil, activating collaterals, etc., mainly activating collaterals, dispersing congestion, sedation, analgesia, antipyretic, anticonvulsion, regulating central nervous system, and increasing white blood cell and platelet count. It also has a strong fungicidal effect on skin fungi suppression. In short, cinnamaldehyde can not only be used as a raw material drug itself, but also be added to various external drugs and finished drugs. It can also be further processed and synthesized into many powerful drugs.

The application of cinnamaldehyde in chemical industry
1. Organic chemical synthesis. Used for synthesis of -bromocinnamaldehyde, cinnamic acid, cinnamic alcohol, cinnamic nitrile and other products.

2. In industry, it can also be made into color developing agents and experimental reagents.

3. Insecticide, mosquito repellent, refrigerator deodorant, preservative, etc. It is highly effective against the larvae of aedes mosquitoes, which transmit yellow fever, and will become a new insecticide. Cinnamaldehyde is not only safe and environmentally friendly, but also has a fragrant smell. It is an antimicrobial agent containing cinnamaldehyde, which can repel insects. Can be directly used in the drainage pipe (sewer) or special automotive essence, air freshener, oxygen generator, refrigerator deodorant, preservative, etc.

4. Cinnamaldehyde can also be used as bactericidal algicide and acidification inhibitor in petroleum exploitation, replacing traditional anticorrosive fungicides such as glutaraldehyde, which can significantly increase petroleum output, improve petroleum quality and reduce the exploitation cost. It has opened up an unprecedented wide space for the application of cinnamaldehyde. Great progress has been made in the application of cinnamaldehyde in Hebei oilfield and Shengli oilfield, and the application test in Daqing oilfield is also under way.

5. Because the application of cinnamaldehyde is not affected by PH value like sodium benzoate, for acidic or alkaline substances, it has a strong bactericidal function, but also can be widely used in anti-corrosion, anti-mildew preservation. As the field of application of cinnamaldehyde continues to expand, Dr Zolads of Wheeling Jesuit University in America and others reported their findings at the Chemosenstive Association's annual meeting. Cinnamaldehyde enhances brain power and helps with memory. This research result is very promising, which will bring new development and leap to cinnamon series products.

Researchers at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Dentistry reported a new study showing that natural flavorings containing cinnamaldehyde and other plant-based ingredients can kill bacteria in the mouth and thus reduce bad breath. Cinnamaldehyde is a commonly used plant flavoring oil. Fifteen participants chewed three types of gum -- cinnamon-flavored, other natural or unflavored -- for 20 minutes at a time. Saliva was compared before and after the subjects chewed gum 20 minutes after they stopped chewing. Microbial analysis found that the cinnamon-flavored gum reduced the concentration of anaerobe in saliva by 50 per cent and even cleared 43 per cent of anaerobe behind the tongue. These anaerobic bacteria break down putrid proteins to produce volatile sulfur compounds, which can lead to unpleasant halitosis, while unflavored gum does little to reduce bacteria in the mouth. Studies have shown that chewing gum containing cinnamaldehyde and other active plant extracts can be used as a functional health food, and they can have a positive impact on oral health in the short term. And cinnamaldehyde gum isn't just used to mask bad breath, it actually gets rid of the bacteria that cause it. The latest bird repellent colloid should field demand, take active evacuation method, products constantly new. The use of natural flavor - cinnamaldehyde as a bird repellent colloid came into being. The effective component of bird drive cinnamaldehyde has high content and long aging, and the high concentration product is used in airport waterway. A bird repellent colloidal agent based on cinnamaldehyde, a biological agent, slowly and persistently releases a gas that affects the central nervous system of birds. The bird flies away immediately upon smelling it, and does not return for the duration of its memory. It not only effectively drives away birds, but also does no harm to birds. It is a kind of green and environment-friendly bird repellent product, which solves the world class problem of human beings.

Three, in the application of flavor and fragrance
Cinnamaldehyde, as the aromatic compound of hydroxyl acid, has a good function of incense holding. It is used as the raw material of aroma blending in incense making the aroma of the main fragrance more fragrant. Because its boiling point is higher than other organic compounds with similar substructure, it is often used as a stabilizer. Often used for soap with fragrance, modulation gardenia, jasmine, jasmine, lily of the valley, rose and other flavors, in the food flavor can be used for apple, cherry, fruit flavor.

Application of cinnamaldehyde in food industry
It is often used as spice, preservative, anti-mildew agent (paper), as well as a good seasoning (oil) to improve the taste and flavor. Such as: instant noodles, chewing gum, betel nut and other food and bread, cakes, cakes and other baked goods.

Now the United States, Japan has been developed to use cinnamaldehyde in food additives, mainly using its sterilization, disinfection, antisepsis function. Cinnamaldehyde, as food fungicide, has no toxicity or low toxicity to human body, but has a strong inhibitory effect on the reproduction of microorganisms. Soluble in ethanol, ether, chloroform, grease, etc. It has bacteriostatic effect. When the concentration is 2.5×10-4, it has strong bacteriostatic effect on Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus Niger, Penicillium tangerinifera, Fusarium oxysporum, Alternaria alternata, Candida albicans and yeast.

Cinnamaldehyde has a good inhibitory effect on mold. Inhibition of mold growth, strong antibacterial force. Can effectively kill bacteria, E. coli. Cinnamaldehyde is an active antifungal substance. Foreign researchers have studied the antifungal effects of cinnamaldehyde on 22 conditionally pathogenic fungi. The results showed that cinnamaldehyde had antibacterial effect on all the tested bacteria. In the study of the anti-aflatoxin effect and ultrastructure of cinnamaldehyde, it was found that cinnamaldehyde had obvious anti-aflatoxin effect

The application of cinnamaldehyde in feed
Cinnamaldehyde itself is a flavor, it has the function of promoting growth, improving feed efficiency and controlling poultry and livestock bacterial diarrhea, and can increase the flavor of feed, lure animals to eat, but also can prevent feed mildew for a long time, add cinnamaldehyde after no need to add other preservatives

The preparation methods

[Method 1]
(1) Hydroxyl shrinkage. Benzaldehyde and acetaldehyde as raw materials. The cinnamaldehyde is formed by condensation under alkaline conditions. 133kg benzaldehyde, 400kg water, 10kg 40%-50% sodium hydroxide, 66.6kg acetaldehyde and 40-50kg benzene were added to the reaction pot successively, and stirred at 20℃ for 5h. At the end of the reaction, the benzene layer was stratified, then dilute acid and water until neutral. After recovery of benzene by vacuum distillation, the distillate at 130℃ (2.67Kpa) was collected to obtain 55-60kg cinnamaldehyde.
(2) Separation method of essential oil. Cinnamic oil and Ceylon oil contain about 55%-85% cinnamic aldehyde, which can be separated by sodium bisulfite addition method. The addition was separated by centrifugation, decomposed by dilute acid or alkali, distilled by steam and reduced pressure.

[Method 2]
