Tribromoneopentyl alcohol TBNPA 3-Bromo-2,2-bis(bromomethyl)propanol
It is a reactive flame retardant. It has high bromine content and special stability, and its heat resistance, hydrolysis resistance and light stability are particularly outstanding.
Application:
The TBNPA is a reactive flame retardant, combines a high bromine content with exceptional stability and is particularly suitable where thermal, hydrolytic and light stability are required.
TBNPA as a reactive intermediate for high Molecular weight flame retardant, particularly in combination with phosphorus, and a reactive flame retardant for polyurethanes where its high solubility in the system makes it especially useful. It reacts through its single hydroxyl function to form pendant urethane groups.
TBNPA,high bromine content and good compatibility in CFC-free PU Systems enables high standards of fire retardancy to be reached together with good foam properties in both rigid and flexible PU. Effective combination of properties may be achived by using the mixtures which is monofunctional and TBNPA which is difunctional.
