Prilocaine hydrochloride, white crystalline powder, odorless, sour and slightly bitter. The melting point is 167～168℃. It is soluble in water, ethanol and slightly soluble in chloroform. It is a local anesthetic. Its mechanism of action is similar to that of lidocaine. Its strength of action and speed of onset are also very similar. It lasts for a long time, has lower toxicity than Chemicalbook, and has less accumulation. It is clinically used for infiltration anesthesia, epidural anesthesia and conduction anesthesia for various operations. The maximum dosage at one time is 60 mg, 0.5% to 1% solution is used for infiltration anesthesia; 2% and 3% solutions are used for nerve block anesthesia and epidural anesthesia. Children should be given medication as appropriate.
