3-(Acryloxy)propyltrimethoxysilane Special silane MEHQ
Siwin-M704 is a versatile coupling agent that can be used in many applications utilizing a free
radical cure mechanism. The silane is used in fiber-optic coatings, acrylic coatings, artificial marble,
adhesives&sealants, and thermoplastics.
It can improve mechanical and electrical property retention better than the more common
methacryl silane Siwin-M704.
3-(Acryloxy)propyltrimethoxysilane is an organic silicon compound synthesized by the reaction of acrylic acid with methoxy silane. It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a tendency to volatilize at room temperature.
Application:
Polymer Modifier: 3-(Acryloxy)propyltrimethoxysilane finds extensive use as a polymer modifier in the polymer industry. By reacting with polymers, it introduces acrylic groups, enhancing the interaction between the polymer and inorganic fillers, thereby improving the physical properties and durability of the polymer.
Surface Treatment Agent: In surface coating and coating applications, 3-(Acryloxy)propyltrimethoxysilane can be employed as a surface treatment agent. It reacts with surfactants and the substrate surface to form an organosilane protective layer, enhancing coating adhesion and weather resistance.
Interface Coupling Agent: 3-(Acryloxy)propyltrimethoxysilane serves as an interface coupling agent to effectively bond organic and inorganic phases. In the preparation of composite materials, it improves the compatibility between different materials, enhancing the mechanical performance and chemical resistance of the composite.
Silicon Rubber Crosslinker: Due to its acrylic groups, 3-(Acryloxy)propyltrimethoxysilane can be used as a crosslinker for silicone rubber. It introduces crosslinking points, enhancing the strength, elasticity, and heat resistance of the silicone rubber.
Antistatic Agent: In certain applications, 3-(Acryloxy)propyltrimethoxysilane can be utilized as an antistatic agent. It reacts with the substrate surface to form a conductive layer, effectively eliminating or reducing static accumulation.
