Phycocyanin is a pigment-protein complex from the light-harvesting phycobiliprotein family, along with allophycocyaninand phycoerythrin.It is an accessory pigment to chlorophyll. Instead, phycobiliproteins aggregate to form clusters that adhere to the membrane called phycobilisomes.
