What is GABA

GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is a naturally occurring neurotransmitter which is produced through glutamate metabolism in the cerebral cortex. GABA is the second most plentiful neurotransmitter in our brains. Although the exact number of neurotransmitters in the body is unknown, experts have been able to estimate that there are over 100 types.
