The -lactamase serine nucleophilic attack avibatanamide bond, open loop to form a covalent bond, the enzyme - inhibitor complex,

as an enzyme inhibition form, without hydrolysis, and then cyclization to form a lactam ring to get Avibatan Chemicalbook tan. The

nucleophilic attack leads to the rate of ring-opening much higher than that of cyclization, resulting in the inhibition of-lactamase. In
