1. Potassium hydrogen tartrate is weak acid, it is used in baking powder and alkali weak acid salt, sodium bicarbonate.

2. Potassium hydrogen tartrate is used for baking powder, diuresis, medicine, and for making tartrate.

Physical properties

Colorless crystals or white crystal powder with sweet and sour taste, sparingly soluble in water, freely soluble in dilute mineral acid, alkaline solution or borax solution and insoluble in acetic acid or ethanol, relative density 1.984.

    

Application

Widely used in food,medicine,chemistry and light industry,etc.Mainly used in manufacture tartaric acid salts,such as potassium sodium tartrate,and can be used as beer foaming agent.Also applied in tanning,photo,glass,enamel and telecom materials industries.It's acidity is 1.3 times as citric acid,so especially as acidifying agent for grape juice.
