Articaine is a dental local anesthetic. It is the most widely used local anesthetic in a number of European countries and is available in many countries around the world. The amide structure of articaine is similar to that of other local anesthetics, but its molecular structure differs through the presence of a thiophene ring instead of a benzene ring. Articaine is exceptional because it contains an additional ester group that is metabolized by esterases in blood and tissue

Articaine HCl is a local anesthetic. Articaine HCl blocks nerve conduction by reversibly binding to the alpha-subunit of the voltage-gated sodium channels within the inner cavity of the nerve.

Function And Application of Articaine Hydrochloride

Articaine Hydrochloride   is a local anaesthetic that has been approved overseas for several years. Like other amide
anaesthetics, articaine blocks nerve conduction when it is infiltrated around a nerve. This action is prolonged by combining
the drug with a vasoconstrictor.
The combination of articaine can be used for local or regional anaesthesia for dental procedures. Anaesthesia begins within
six minutes and lasts for an hour. The half-life of articaine is approximately 1.8 hours. It is metabolised and then mainly
excreted in the urine.Stomach bleeding Intestine bleeding Low blood pressure Abnormally slow heartbeat Acute asthma
Cardiac arrest Anesthesia in dental and periodontal procedures
