4- dimethylaminopyridine, commonly referred to as DMAP, is a super nucleophilic acylation catalyst. The resonance between the electron-donating dimethylamino and the parent ring (pyridine ring) can strongly activate nitrogen atoms in the ring for nucleophilic substitution, and significantly catalyze the acylation/esterification of alcohols and amines/acids with high resistance and low reactivity. The activity is about 104~106 times that of pyridine. Acyl transfer is a common Chemicalbook transformation in nature and organic synthesis, and chiral DMAP is a common asymmetric acyl transfer catalyst. Since 1996, Vedejs and Fu's group reported the centrochiral and face-chiral DMAP catalysts, chiral DMAP catalysts have been greatly developed. Various centrochiral, face-chiral, spiral chiral and centrochiral DMAPS have been reported successively, and have been well applied in many asymmetric acyl transfer reactions.
4-dimethylaminopyridine is a novel and highly efficient catalyst widely used in chemical synthesis. It has high catalytic capacity in various kinds of reactions such as acylation, alkylation, etherification and esterification of organic synthesis, drug synthesis, pesticide, dye and spice synthesis. It has a significant effect on improving the rate of high chemical icalbook. The best acylation agent for catalyst is anhydride in an organic base environment. The esterification of succinic acid and lower alcohol can be carried out in excess alcohol, sulfuric acid or strong acid cation exchange resin catalyst, but without water separation, affect the conversion rate.
