Lithium hexafluorophosphate (LiPF6) is used as an electrolyte for lithium-ion batteries, mainly used in lithium-ion power batteries, lithium-ion energy storage batteries and other daily-use batteries, and is an irreplaceable lithium-ion battery electrolyte in the near and mid-term. Electrolyte is one of the key raw materials for lithium batteries. Lithium batteries are mainly composed of four parts: positive electrode material, negative electrode material, electrolyte and separator. Among them, the electrolyte is the "blood" of the lithium battery, which conducts ions and electrons between the positive and negative electrodes. A suitable electrolyte must have the following properties: high ionic conductivity, wide electrochemical stability window, good thermal stability, safety and low toxicity, to ensure that lithium batteries have the advantages of high voltage and high specific energy. As one of the key raw materials for lithium batteries, the cost of electrolyte accounts for about 5%-13% of the production cost of lithium batteries.
1. Name:
Chinese name: Lithium hexafluorophosphate[1]
English name: Lithium Hexafluorophosphate
2. Purpose
Lithium hexafluorophosphate is used as an electrolyte for lithium-ion batteries and is mainly used for lithium-ion power batteries, lithium-ion energy storage batteries, digital and other daily-use batteries.
3. Physical and chemical properties
CAS: 21324-40-3
EINECS: 244-334-7
Molecular formula: LiPF6
Relative molecular mass: 151.91
White crystal or powder, relative density 1.50. Strong deliquescent; easily soluble in water, but also soluble in low-concentration methanol, ethanol, acetone, carbonates and other organic solvents. When exposed to the air, lithium hexafluorophosphate quickly decomposes due to moisture absorption and emits HF to produce white smoke.
Four, packaging specifications
150kg/120kg stainless steel packaging barrel, 8kg PE keg packaging
