 What is Vancomycin hydrochloride
Vancomycin hydrochloride is a glycopeptide antibiotic. It is the hydrochloride of vancomycin. It is a white or off-white crystalline powder at room temperature. Alanylalanine blocks the synthesis of high-molecular-weight peptidoglycan that constitutes bacterial cell walls, resulting in cell wall defects and killing bacteria. In addition, it may also alter bacterial cell membrane permeability and selectively inhibit RNA synthesis. 

Vancomycin hydrochloride has been used:
Vancomycin hydrochloride is characterized by strong bactericidal effect on Gram-positive bacteria, strong antibacterial activity on Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus pneumoniae, etc.; on anaerobic Streptococcus , Clostridium difficile, Bacillus anthracis, Actinomycetes, Bacillus diphtheriae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Streptococcus viridans, Streptococcus bovis, Streptococcus faecalis, etc. also have certain antibacterial effects. It is ineffective against most gram-negative bacteria, mycobacteria, rickettsia, chlamydia or fungi.
