Carbomer is an acrylic cross-linked resin obtained by cross-linking pentaerythritol and acrylic acid. It is a very important rheology modifier. The neutralized carbomer is an excellent gel matrix and has important uses such as thickening and suspension. The process is simple and the stability is good, and it is widely used in lotions, creams and gels.

Carbomer use

1. Controlled-release drugs made as sustained-release materials, such as ascorbic acid, aspirin, lithium carbonate, atropine sulfate, procaine hydrochloride, chlorpheniramine, quinine sulfate, theophylline, etc.

2. Application in external drug formulations, as a carrier matrix, made into ointments, suppositories, creams, gels, emulsions, etc.

3. Utilizing the gel, adhesive and film-forming properties of this product, the application in bio-adhesion, as a carrier matrix and bio-adhesion made of drugs, has a long retention time in the tissue mucosa, which improves the bio-adhesion of the drug. Availability, such as targeting mucous membranes, including ocular, nasal, intestinal, vaginal and rectal mucosa.
