Product Description

Potassium sorbate is colorless or white scaly crystal or crystalline powder, odorless or slightly odorous. Melting point is 270°C (decomposition). Easily soluble in water (67.6g/100mL, 20°C), soluble in ethanol (0.3g/10mL). The pH value of 1% aqueous solution is 7-8. It is easy to absorb moisture in the air and is oxidized and colored.

Potassium sorbate is often used as a preservative. It destroys many enzyme systems by combining with the sulfhydryl group of the microbial enzyme system. Its toxicity is much lower than other preservatives, and it is currently widely used.

Application 
Potassium sorbate, as the least toxic food preservative, is widely used in food and feed processing industries, as well as in cosmetics, cigarettes, resins, spices and rubber industries. However, it is most widely used in food preservation and feed.
